Channel Nine star Danika Mason has adjusted her schedule, opting for later starts on the program "Today" on Thursday and Friday. This comes after Mason announced her pregnancy with ex-NRL player fiancé Liam Knight, with whom she is expecting a daughter due in December.
Mason, a Logie-nominated sports reporter, usually begins her day at 5:30 a.m. but has recently been starting at 7 a.m. She shared the news of her pregnancy on "Today" in July, noting that she had overcome the morning sickness stage and was feeling "a lot better."
"So Liam and I are expecting a little baby, a little baby boom here on the Today show," Mason told viewers at the time, referring also to a pregnancy announcement from co-presenter Sarah Abo. Mason added that her "off-season will be a little bit busier this year" with the arrival of her daughter.
Liam Knight expressed his excitement about becoming a father to a girl, and Mason stated that her colleagues at Nine have been very supportive throughout her pregnancy, particularly during times she felt unwell on her way to work. She also recalled a strong craving for chicken schnitzel upon discovering her pregnancy.
Mason first announced her pregnancy publicly via Instagram, posting images of her dog wearing a "promoted to big brother" bib alongside ultrasound photos and a positive pregnancy test. The announcement was met with congratulatory messages from various sports and television personalities.
Mason and Knight made their relationship public in July 2024, several months after Mason's split from her ex-fiancé Todd Liubinskas. Knight confirmed their relationship on social media with a photo of the couple captioned, "My life's good."
