A Dallas mother of four remains on life support after a hit-and-run incident left her with critical injuries. Lisa Martinez, 42, was riding her bicycle in Oak Cliff on August 29 when she was struck by a car. Dallas Police were called to the scene around 9 p.m., but the driver had already fled.
Maya Martinez suffered multiple broken bones in the collision and was transported to a hospital, where she is currently in critical condition. Her family is appealing for the public's help in locating the driver responsible.
"We really need justice for this. We really need answers," said Erica Moreno Garcia, Martinez's niece, who is also seeking accountability for the driver. "Father, God will get you. You will get what you deserve."
The family is maintaining a bedside vigil, speaking with Martinez in hopes of her recovery. A GoFundMe page has been established to help cover Martinez's medical expenses, as she does not have health insurance. The fundraising effort has garnered nearly $900 toward a $20,000 goal.
Dallas Police are requesting that anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run contact them.
