Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood is suing a contractor over alleged issues that led to his country home flooding on three separate occasions. Revel Horwood, known for his critical commentary on the show, purchased the 19th-century property in Northamptonshire for £1.8 million in 2021.
The legal action stems from problems with drainage work at the property, which Revel Horwood stated have been ongoing for two years. He told Eden Confidential, "He did all the wrong drawings. My house has actually flooded three times."
The Australian-born choreographer, 61, called the Environment Agency last year when flooding occurred while workers were demolishing walls and excavating foundations. The extensive renovations aim to raise the back garden and build a terrace around the swimming pool at the seven-bedroom estate, which is situated near a lake and a pond.
These renovation issues have also impacted Revel Horwood's personal life. He has been living in a caravan on the property, and the ongoing construction has contributed to delays in his wedding to horticulturalist Jonathan Myring, 39. "Every time we plan it, something comes up, like the house build took another two years to complete – and it still hasn't been completed," Revel Horwood commented.
A source connected to the renovation project indicated that a consultant was removed from the project over two years ago.
Revel Horwood discussed these issues while promoting his book, The Book Of Panto, at Wimbledon BookFest in South London.
