A married couple and their young son were found dead with gunshot wounds in their burning Maywood home in what authorities are investigating as an apparent murder-suicide. Firefighters and deputies responded to reports of a fire at a two-story residence on East 61st Street around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

After extinguishing the flames, emergency responders located three deceased individuals inside a bedroom. The victims included a man and a woman in their late 40s, and a boy under the age of 10. All three were pronounced dead at the scene. A firearm was recovered from the home.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated that the incident appears to be domestic violence in nature, and that the two adults were married and the child was their biological son. The identities of the deceased have not been released pending family notifications.
