The practitioner who administered a cosmetic procedure to Alice Webb, who later died, had previously been subject to enforcement actions banning him from performing specific treatments in two UK areas. Webb, 33, died in hospital after falling ill following the procedure. Her family has stated that she would not have proceeded with the treatment if she had known about these prior prohibitions.
Kingscote, representing Webb's family, indicated that awareness of the enforcement actions would have prevented Webb from undergoing the procedure. "Her kids were everything to her. She adored her kids. She wouldn't have done something that would have jeopardised that," Kingscote said, referring to Webb's children.
Gloucestershire Police had been investigating Webb's death. The practitioner, identified as Parke, 34, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter in connection with her death, though he had not been charged. Parke, who had previously appeared on television to discuss his work, died in February in an unrelated incident that reportedly occurred after he himself underwent a cosmetic procedure.
An inquest into Webb's death is expected to be held by Gloucestershire's senior coroner, likely with a jury, in the autumn.
