Comedian Larry the Cable Guy is recovering at home after a recent hospitalization for appendicitis. Representatives confirmed the health scare and his subsequent release from a Lincoln, Nebraska, hospital on Saturday.

Larry the Cable Guy, whose birth name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney, was admitted to the hospital late Thursday night where he was diagnosed with the condition. Appendicitis is characterized by inflammation of the appendix and is often treated with surgical removal of the organ.

Known for his role in the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" alongside Bill Engvall, Ron White, and Jeff Foxworthy, which ran from 2000 to 2006 and included a documentary and a sketch comedy series, Larry the Cable Guy also lent his voice to the character Mater in Disney/Pixar's "Cars" franchise. He has also appeared on "The Masked Singer" and in the television series "Yellowstone."

In a recent interview, the comedian discussed the current state of comedy, stating, "We live in the United States of America — somebody doesn’t want to like your act then don’t go see that person’s act. It’s as simple as that." He added that he focuses on his established fanbase and performs material he finds funny.

Larry the Cable Guy has been married to his wife, Cara, since 2005, and they have two children, Wyatt and Reagan.
