WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes has shed light on the circumstances surrounding John Cena's departure from his mobile gaming clan in Clash of Clans. The collaboration between WWE and the popular mobile game has brought several wrestling personalities into the game as playable characters.

Rhodes, who has been playing Clash of Clans for a decade, is currently involved in a game event called 'Search for Cena,' where players are tasked with finding Cena's base within the game. This event, lasting until September 30, is part of an ongoing crossover initiative that has introduced WWE stars as hero characters.

Rhodes explained that Cena was instrumental in introducing him and other WWE stars to Clash of Clans. Cena previously led a clan known as O'Leary Klan (OLK). However, Rhodes described Cena's leadership style as tyrannical, leading to his eventual removal from the group. Following Cena's exit, Rhodes and other members formed the Nicky Clan, which continues to operate today.

"He had the O’Leary Klan (OLK) and he was a pretty good clan leader. He was until he wasn't -- real, real, real tyrant behavior, I would say, from the record-breaking John Cena," Rhodes told OutKick. "And now we have the opportunity to get our receipt back, all of us, the entire Clash community, because we can get out there, find his base, raid it, get a three-star 100 on it."

Rhodes further elaborated on Cena's in-game performance, noting a tendency for "99% one-star" attacks, which he compared to only kicking field goals in an NFL game. He suggested that Cena's excessive use of in-game currency, known as "gemming," and his attack strategy were detrimental to the clan's progress. Despite these criticisms, Rhodes acknowledged Cena's role in providing good troops and fostering a sense of community.

John Cena, in a press release, echoed Rhodes' account, stating that their rivalry originated in Clash of Clans. "People think this started in the ring with Cody. It didn’t. It started when I out-raided him in the game and he threw me off his team," Cena said. "Ten years later he still needs help. This time he’s asking millions of you to take on my base. That’s fine. As I have always said - if you want some, come get some."

The crossover features other WWE stars as well. Alexa Bliss appears as the 'Archer Queen,' The Undertaker as the 'Grand Warden,' Iyo Sky as the 'Royal Champion,' Jey Uso as the 'Minion Prince,' and Kane as the 'Dragon Duke.' Rhodes himself has a 'Barbarian King' character, which debuted last year. Rhodes also mentioned his surreal experience of collaborating with WWE legend Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker, who is now fully engaged with the game.

Clash of Clans, developed by Supercell, has achieved over 2 billion downloads globally and is recognized as one of the most successful mobile games.
