Chuk Anyanwu, a contestant on "Big Brother 28," has spoken out about the "hurtful" betrayal he experienced from fellow houseguest Kamu Kirk, which ultimately led to Anyanwu's eviction. Despite the initial sting of Kirk's decision to abandon their alliance with Haley Thogmartin, Anyanwu acknowledged it as a sign of smart gameplay.

"I feel like he’s seen every season. He knows how to play the game," Anyanwu said of Kirk in an interview. "He knows how to pivot. That was something I struggled to do and did not want to do."

Anyanwu admitted that his reluctance to form alliances outside of the "Toolshed" group contributed to his downfall. "That’s a part of the game. And I couldn’t do that," he stated. "But he’s able to do that. And he’s still someone who I see getting really far."

Despite the strategic maneuvering that led to his exit, Anyanwu confirmed he holds no ill will towards houseguests LaTrice Verrett and Taylor Brown, who were involved in his eviction. "All the animosity towards your houseguests, it just dissipates when you walk out," he explained. "My feelings for Lala, I can’t even fake I’m angry that she put me on the block."

He also addressed comments made by Brown during the season, including remarks about his hygiene. "And then my feelings for Taylor, those are comments in the house... You can’t be mad. I don’t hold grudges. And for me, it’s truly like they dissipated to where I don’t have any negative things to say."

Anyanwu also responded to fan and friend feedback that his gameplay was "boring." He explained that his intention was to avoid being overly cheerful, a personality trait he usually displays outside the house, to prevent his niceness from being taken advantage of. "But going into this game I did not want to be the bubbly, cheery guy that I usually am outside the house," Anyanwu said. "I just didn’t want that niceness to be taken for granted."

"Big Brother 28" airs on CBS, with episodes available to stream on Paramount+ the following day.
