Christine McGuinness has turned to social media to express a desire for universal assistance in "sorting her life out," following reports that her ex-husband, Paddy McGuinness, is dating a colleague.
Reports emerged on Saturday that the comedian, 52, is in a new relationship with Emma Carey, a publicist at BBC Radio 2, where McGuinness hosts a weekly show. The couple reportedly split in 2022 after 11 years of marriage.
On Sunday, Christine, 38, appeared to allude to the news through her Instagram posts. In one post, pictured in a pink bikini, she wrote, "Dear Universe… I’ve updated my wishlist. (And if you could sort my life out too that would be magical)." She later shared another image of herself on her balcony overlooking the London skyline, captioned, "Make a wish… the universe is listening."
Photos have surfaced of Paddy McGuinness and Emma Carey walking together in London after a dinner engagement. According to reports, the pair dined at the Rosewood Hotel before heading to another nearby hotel. An onlooker described McGuinness as looking "so at ease" with Carey, noting their apparent comfort and shared laughter.
Emma Carey is described as a yoga and wellness enthusiast, with her Instagram showcasing yoga sessions and wellness retreats. Carey also works in publicity for BBC Radio 2.
Paddy McGuinness was in London last week, also appearing as a stand-in host on ITV's This Morning. Carey's role at BBC Radio 2 places her in proximity to McGuinness's broadcasting work.
Paddy and Christine McGuinness continue to live together in their family home to co-parent their three children: twins Penelope and Leo, aged 13, and Felicity, 10. All three children have autism, and the couple have prioritized maintaining routines and stability for them.
Christine McGuinness has previously spoken about the challenges of their divorce, describing it as a "difficult and challenging" period. Despite the marital separation, they maintain a close friendship and communicate about their respective dating lives. McGuinness has stated that their shared home remains "the children's home for them to grow up in" and she is not in a rush to change that arrangement, though she expressed a desire for her own flat.
She has also indicated a cautious approach to future relationships, particularly regarding introducing new partners to the children, emphasizing that any new romantic involvement would take a significant amount of time to be considered for introduction into the family home.
