Actor Chris Evans has sold his Hollywood Hills residence for $5.38 million, concluding a sale process that lasted over a year and involved substantial price reductions. The deal marks the end of the actor's more than a decade-long residency in California as he and his wife, Alba Baptista, prepare to spend more time on the East Coast with their daughter, Alma.

The Marvel star initially listed the property in May 2025 for $6.99 million. When it failed to attract a buyer, the listing was removed in November. The home reappeared on the market in June with a $600,000 price reduction, bringing the asking price to $6.39 million. The final sale price of $5.38 million represents an additional discount of over $1 million from that reduced price.

Despite the significant haircut from the original asking price, Evans purchased the property in 2013 for approximately $3.52 million, indicating a substantial profit on the sale. The actor, who was born and raised in Sudbury, Massachusetts, cited a desire to be closer to home as the primary reason for selling.

"The West Coast is beautiful, and I've spent more than a decade in this home enjoying Los Angeles," Evans told Realtor.com. "But I've decided to spend more time on the East Coast. It feels like the right moment to pass this beautiful property to the next owner."

Inside, the home combines contemporary finishes with warmer architectural details

The property, located in the Hollywood Hills, is situated behind gates on a secluded cul-de-sac and offers extensive views over the Los Angeles skyline. The home, originally built in the 1940s, has been renovated and features vaulted open-beam ceilings, large windows, and a fireplace. The kitchen includes high-end appliances, and there is a separate dining area with a wet bar.

The property is also surrounded by historically significant architecture, including a neighboring residence designed by celebrated modernist architect Richard Neutra. But it was the views that Evans himself loved most

Outdoor amenities include a landscaped yard with a swimming pool, spa, and multiple seating areas. A detached guest house with its own bedroom, kitchen, and office, as well as a private gym, are also part of the estate. Evans reportedly utilized the gym during his preparation for his role as Captain America.

The 45-year-old first put the property on the market in May 2025 for $6.99 million, but after it lingered without finding a buyer, he pulled the listing in November

Evans, who played Steve Rogers in 11 Marvel Cinematic Universe films, purchased the home two years after his debut as the character. His decision to sell aligns with a trend of some Hollywood figures reassessing their ties to Los Angeles. Evans has previously expressed a desire to slow down his acting career, though he has not ruled out future Marvel appearances.
