DJ and petrolhead Chris Evans has purchased a £14 million waterside mansion in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The property features a private marina with space for 30 boats.

Evans, 60, who hails from a Warrington council estate, joins a number of celebrities in the Thames-side town, including his close friends, chef Tom Kerridge and entrepreneur Peter Jones. The mansion, built 15 years ago after a previous cottage was demolished, is shared with his wife Natasha and their four children: Noah, 17, Eli, 14, and twins Walt and Boo, aged seven. The eco-friendly building includes six ensuite bedrooms, a snooker room with a bar, a study, a reading room, and a dedicated dog room. Lifts are also installed to access different levels of the house.

Outside, the estate boasts a swimming pool, a pergola, and a loggia, leading to trees and a water stretch on the north side of the property. This is not Evans's first property in Marlow; he previously bought a £4 million 'crash pad' in 2019. He reportedly acquired the new mansion quietly at the end of last year through his company Zimple, with a mortgage from Coutts. The family was previously based in Ascot, Berkshire.

Evans's wealth significantly increased in 2000 when he sold the Ginger Media Group for £30 million. His net worth is estimated to be around £70 million, which includes a car collection valued at £30 million. His son Noah shares his interest in cars, and Evans purchased a road-legal replica of the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car for £500,000 in 2012 for them to drive together.

He continues to host a weekday breakfast show on Virgin Radio and founded Carfest, an event that raises money for UK children's charities. Evans also presents TFI Unplugged on YouTube, a show that was picked up for a six-episode run on Channel 4 in April. This program is a scaled-down version of his 1990s hit chat show, TFI Friday.

Evans began his career as a DJ on Piccadilly Radio in Manchester after leaving school at 16. He later joined Channel 4's The Big Breakfast and hosted the gameshow Don't Forget Your Toothbrush. He achieved peak fame presenting the breakfast show on BBC Radio 1 during the Britpop era. His tenure at BBC Radio 1 ended following reports of extensive pub crawls, timekeeping issues, and a demand for Fridays off.

Evans has been married three times. His first marriage was to Carol McGiffin from 1991 to 1993. He then married pop star and actress Billie Piper in 2001 when she was 18; they separated after three years and divorced amicably. He met his current wife, model and professional golfer Natasha Shishmanian, at a celebrity golf tournament, and they married in 2007.
