The victim in a recent kidnapping and execution in Chino Hills, California, shared a business relationship with his alleged killer, according to official records. Zhengfeng Bo, 67, the suspect in the shooting death of 60-year-old Shukur Aikebaer, was identified as Aikebaer's boss.
Both men were associated with Panshi, a limited liability firm registered as a real estate investment company. State business records show Bo as the chief executive officer and Aikebaer as the secretary. Aikebaer initially filed paperwork for the firm in 2018, while Bo updated documents in 2025 and 2026.
Investigators reported that Aikebaer also acted as a "middleman" for Bo concerning a $20 million apartment complex in Pasadena. Bo was reportedly suing the former managers of that property for allegedly preventing him from taking control.
Bo and an accomplice, 66-year-old Jianquan Bo, who shared an Irvine address with Zhengfeng Bo, are accused of driving to Aikebaer's residence on Wednesday night. Surveillance footage shows a silver car stopping at the victim's home around 10:15 p.m. Investigators stated that Zhengfeng Bo and Jianquan Bo cut the power lines to Aikebaer's house. When Aikebaer went outside to investigate, they allegedly shot and kidnapped him, subsequently placing him in the trunk of their vehicle.
Neighbors reported hearing gunshots and a man yelling for help. Some also reported hearing a woman screaming that her husband had been shot and was being tracked by a device, providing authorities with his location.
Responding officers encountered a speeding Nissan Altima with Oregon plates, which led them on a short pursuit before stopping on Wandering Ridge Drive. Deputies ordered the occupants to surrender. Jianquan Bo exited the vehicle, but Zhengfeng Bo, the driver, reportedly opened the trunk and fired a shot into it before being shot and killed by a deputy. A neighbor on Wandering Ridge Drive reported hearing gunshots and then seeing the vehicle stop.
Jianquan Bo is currently being held on murder and kidnapping charges. Investigators have not yet disclosed a motive for the killing. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department stated that the investigation is ongoing and will be referred to the District Attorney's Office for review.
