Former Vice President Dick Cheney oversaw a "detainment situation" involving live aliens recovered from UFO crash sites, according to claims made by UFO whistleblower David Grusch. Grusch, a former Air Force intelligence officer who testified before Congress in 2023 about alleged secret government programs recovering and reassembling extraterrestrial craft, made the assertions Thursday during an interview on "The Dr. Phil Podcast."

Grusch stated that U.S. officials had communicated telepathically with alien "pilots" extracted from dozens of UFOs, which he believes the government possesses. He estimated that between 25 and 100 such craft could be in government custody.

"I know people who had direct interactions in a detainment situation, which sounds very Star Trek and sounds very crazy, but it is true," Grusch said during the podcast. He added that he spoke with a former cabinet member who directly handled the issue for a specific former vice president, whom Grusch alluded to as "Darth Vader." This nickname was famously used by critics to describe Cheney due to his powerful influence during his tenure as Vice President under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009.

Regarding communication with the alleged alien beings, Grusch described it as a form of "consciousness communication," which he acknowledged is commonly referred to as telepathy. He expressed his own curiosity about the mechanics of such communication, stating, "I’m as curious as the average viewer on your show on how that works."

Dr. Phil McGraw, host of the podcast, has recently become a prominent interviewer of figures involved in the UFO disclosure debate. He has reportedly been granted early access to UFO files released by the administration and has been discussing these releases with his audience. Following the interview, Dr. Phil emphasized the public's right to ask questions and seek truth regarding such matters.
