Charli XCX and her husband, George Daniel, were observed in New York City on Monday, engaging in a public display of affection ahead of her scheduled performance.

This sighting comes as XCX addressed fan frustration regarding the limited number of dates on her upcoming European and UK tour for 2027. The singer announced the tour on Instagram, describing it as a show she "loves so much." However, the promotional material indicated only six arena shows, with a limited presence in mainland Europe, sparking considerable backlash in the comments section.

In response to the criticism, XCX posted a statement explaining her decision. "Touring is really emotionally and physically hard for me," she wrote, emphasizing that she does not possess the stamina for extensive, high-octane tours. She clarified that this was also a factor in her decision to conduct a shorter North American tour. XCX expressed regret for any disappointment caused, stating, "I am really sorry if you feel disappointed but I have to honor my truth as an artist." She added, "Perhaps one day I will be built for the kind of touring you expect from me but right now I am not."

Fans expressed a range of reactions, with some criticizing the minimal European dates and questioning the definition of a "Europe tour" with only two mainland shows. Others defended the singer, urging fans to respect her decision and prioritize her well-being. "Let the queen protect her peace!!" one fan commented.

XCX is currently in New York for a two-night engagement at the Barclays Center, following an initial show in Philadelphia.

The singer has previously spoken about her aversion to touring. In an interview with A Rabbit's Foot in December, she described touring as "monotonous" and expressed a desire to experience life "on overload, at full speed." In a recent conversation with Pitchfork, she reiterated her admiration for artists who can sustain long tours, noting her own lack of desire for the necessary stamina and her aversion to monotony.

Charli, who leant in to kiss George on the cheek, cut a cool figure in a black vest top and khaki cargo pants with a slouchy black bag and shades.

Music lovers complained in their droves, with Charli then forced to address the situation, explaining in the comments that she finds touring 'emotionally and physically hard'.
