Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, and defensive coordinator Chris O’Leary demonstrated their support for women’s sports during the team's Women in Sports Day event. The coaches wore Nike t-shirts with the message "EVERYONE WATCHES WOMEN’S SPORTS." The event, held at the team's facility, featured collaborations with Togethxr, UCLA, the Los Angeles Sparks, and Angel City F.C.

The day included "The Future Is Female Panel," interactions with girls' youth flag football players, and a women's flag football coaching clinic. Fans attending the practice received promotional items from Togethxr, a company focused on women's sports and culture.

Despite the positive nature of the event, the coaches' shirts became a target for online trolls. One social media post digitally altered offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel's shirt to read, "Nobody Watches Women’s Sports," which garnered over 1.5 million views. The notes indicate that most observers recognized the post as a disingenuous attempt to disrupt the event.

The Chargers' coaching staff has continued to focus on their duties. The team is preparing for its second preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, a matchup that will see McDaniel face his former team. The upcoming season is considered significant for the Chargers, particularly for quarterback Justin Herbert, as the team aims for its first playoff win in the Harbaugh era in 2026.
