Channel Seven reporter Liam Bartlett is set to air an investigative segment featuring a direct confrontation with British far-right activist Tommy Robinson. The encounter occurred on the streets of Luton, England, while Robinson was accompanying One Nation leader Pauline Hanson.

Bartlett, who spent four weeks filming Hanson across Australia and the UK for the upcoming 7Spotlight investigation, reportedly challenged Robinson aggressively over his criminal record and alleged extremist ties. Eyewitnesses described the on-camera exchange as tense, with Metropolitan Police officers stopping to observe and one witness claiming they applauded Bartlett after filming concluded.

The confrontation is a stark contrast to a recent podcast interview with Robinson conducted by Karl Stefanovic, which led to Stefanovic's departure from Nine. The interview was widely criticized for providing a platform to the controversial figure and was quickly removed from major podcasting services. Stefanovic's podcast interview, conducted independently, occurred shortly before Seven's investigation into Hanson, which included her meeting with Robinson and former actress Holly Valance in Britain.

Robinson, 43, has been a prominent figure in the UK's right-wing activism for nearly a decade and has a documented criminal record that includes convictions for violence, public order offenses, contempt of court, stalking, and harassment of journalists, as well as financial and immigration fraud charges.

The 7Spotlight investigation also features other political figures associated with Hanson, such as Barnaby Joyce and British politician Rupert Lowe. The details of the investigation have been largely kept private despite Bartlett and his crew shadowing Hanson during high-profile appearances, including a visit to an Islamic college in Brisbane.
