As the holiday season approaches, Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle is predicted to be the most sought-after fragrance for women this Christmas, according to The Perfume Shop.

This oriental floral scent, first released in 2001, is expected to lead the market, with Prada Paradoxe Eau de Parfum, priced at £75, following closely. Gucci's new Gorgeous Orchid Intense, retailing at £78, secured the third position in the predictions for women's fragrances.

The Perfume Shop's forecasts indicate a significant surge in perfume sales during the final quarter of the year, a period when consumers often purchase as much fragrance as they do for the entire rest of the year combined.

Details of Coco Mademoiselle describe it as an oriental floral fragrance with top notes of orange, mandarin orange, orange blossom, and bergamot. Its middle notes include mimosa, jasmine, Turkish rose, and ylang-ylang, while the base is composed of tonka bean, patchouli, opoponax, vanilla, vetiver, and white musk.

Other popular fragrances predicted for women include YSL Libre, an oriental fougere launched in 2019, featuring notes of mandarin oil, petitgrain oil, lavandine France oil, and a blackcurrant accord. Carolina Herrera's La Bomba Eau de Parfum, at £67, also made the list.

For men, predictions include Hugo Boss' BOSS Bottled Beyond Eau de Toilette (£76) and Yves Saint Laurent MYSLF Le Parfum (£105). Prada's Paradigme Parfum (£102) is also anticipated to be a popular cologne, taking third place.

Rounding out the men's fragrance predictions are Armani I WILL Eau de Parfum (£25) and Dior Sauvage (£89). Johnny Depp has been a long-standing ambassador for Dior Sauvage, with a partnership beginning in 2015 and reportedly extended with a multi-million dollar deal in 2023.
