Actor Chad Lowe and his wife, Kim Painter, made a notable red carpet appearance with their three daughters, including Fiona, years before the then-13-year-old's tragic death. The family of five attended the premiere of Marvel’s “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” in Burbank, California, on February 4, 2023.

Photographs from the event show Lowe with their elder daughters, Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10, while Painter posed with Fiona and Nixie. The family appeared smiling and united on the red carpet.

While the family generally kept a lower profile away from paparazzi, Lowe occasionally shared glimpses of their lives on Instagram. In October 2023, he posted photos from a family trip to Tennessee, captioning it, “Autumn in Tennessee with my crew!” The images depicted his daughters on a pumpkin patch outing.

Lowe also marked Fiona's 13th birthday on November 15, sharing a tribute with a photo of her on a porch, writing, “Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!! Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!”

The Lowe family announced Fiona’s death on Tuesday through a statement to Page Six. “We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the statement read. “She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance. She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”

The statement also included a message for those struggling with mental health, providing the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline number.

Fiona’s school also announced the death of a student on Tuesday morning without naming her, expressing condolences to the family and friends.

In an August 2024 episode of the “Still Here Hollywood” podcast, Lowe spoke about the privilege of being a father to three daughters. He explained that having daughters had profoundly influenced his perspective on the world, moving his understanding of women's equality and societal challenges from an intellectual concept to a deeply felt personal conviction. “And it’s put it in my heart, because I have three daughters, and so I look at the world, really, from their perspective,” he said.
