Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville believes the most concerning aspect of Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan's new book, "Regime Change," is not the sensational revelations or gossip about former President Donald Trump, but the sheer volume of information consistently leaking from within the White House.

On a recent episode of his "Politics War Room" podcast with Al Hunt, Carville acknowledged the book's overarching themes of "incompetence and stupidity and the grossness" of Trump and his administration. However, he argued that the leaks present a larger, more significant problem.

"They’re leaking like a sieve," Carville stated. "They leak what happens in a bedroom, they leak what happens in meetings, they get audio of meetings. And if you notice, no one has come out and said anything is untrue, because they know that all the tapes and audio are there."

Carville predicted this trend of internal leaks would persist, creating an environment of deep mistrust. "Trust no one. If you work in that snake pit, you can’t say anything, you can’t do anything," he said. "Trump, as out of his mind as he is, he knows that he’s surrounded by traitors. He knows he’s surrounded by leakers. He knows that everything he does is going to be leaked to the next person writing the next book."

This dynamic, according to Carville, supports his ongoing prediction that Trump will eventually leave the White House before the end of his term, potentially following Republican losses in the 2026 midterm elections that could cede control of both the House and Senate.

"When I tell you that this thing is in its last days," Carville remarked, "I’m telling you this thing is in its last days."
