Justin and Hailey Bieber allegedly expelled Carl Lentz and his family from their home following the former Hillsong pastor's widely publicized cheating scandal, according to the Lentz's new book.

Laura Lentz wrote in "Overcoming Infidelity: 10 Conversations to Help You Heal the Hurt" that she and her husband, along with their three children, were given less than a day's notice to leave the apartment provided by the Biebers. Carl Lentz, who was fired from Hillsong Church in November 2020 for "moral failures" after admitting to infidelity, described the situation as a "kick to the ribs" while he was already in a difficult position.

The Biebers had initially offered the Lentz family their apartment for as long as they needed while they searched for a new place to live in Brooklyn. However, this offer was reportedly rescinded once Carl Lentz's affair became public knowledge.

"Somebody on Justin’s team called to say we needed to be out of his and Hailey’s apartment in the next 24 hours," Laura Lentz recounted. "We hastily packed our things and loaded them into a rented U-Haul."

Carl Lentz expressed regret for the situation, stating, "I deserved to be kicked to the curb, but I felt Laura and the kids were just innocent bystanders suffering once again for my sins." He acknowledged that the scandal had "exploded" his close relationship with Justin Bieber, dragging the singer and his wife into a "publicity nightmare they never asked for."

Reps for Justin and Hailey Bieber did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

While many friends reportedly distanced themselves from the Lentz family during the scandal, Carl and Laura noted that actor Tyler Perry was an exception, offering them support when they needed it most. Perry allowed the family to stay in his Manhattan Beach mansion.

Justin Bieber has not publicly addressed the claims made by Carl Lentz. However, in 2020, both Justin and Hailey Bieber unfollowed the Lentz family on social media. In a 2021 interview with GQ, Justin made indirect comments about church leaders placing themselves on pedestals.

Bieber's friendship with Lentz dates back to 2008, and the singer even lived with the Lentz family in New Jersey for a period in 2014. Lentz was also an attendee at Justin and Hailey Bieber's wedding in 2019.

"Overcoming Infidelity: 10 Conversations to Help You Heal the Hurt" was published on October 20.
