A cargo plane overran the runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The aircraft, identified as 21 Air Flight 7598, was en route from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Air traffic control recordings suggest the Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft ran off the end of the runway after landing around 2 p.m. local time.
Initial reports from LiveATC.com indicated the plane may have also struck a vehicle on a perimeter road. Miami International Airport confirmed the plane is disabled at the northwest end of the airport.
Following the incident, all runways and taxiways at Miami International Airport were temporarily closed, and a ground stop was put into effect. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene. The FAA is investigating the incident.
