Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara has stated that he has "turned the page" following the dramatic collapse of his proposed £47.2 million transfer to Chelsea on deadline day. The midfielder acknowledged the possibility of the move falling through, describing it as "part of football."

Chelsea had reportedly agreed to terms with Monaco for Camara, a 22-year-old Senegalese international, with less than two hours remaining in the transfer window. However, Monaco reportedly withdrew their agreement after renegotiating their transfer of Folarin Balogun to Everton. Sources close to Chelsea described the situation as "deeply unprofessional."

Despite the failed move, Camara expressed his commitment to his current club. "I've turned the page and am focusing on the season," he said. "I can help the team a lot. Football moves fast. Maybe other opportunities will come along. But for now, I'm staying focused on the season with Monaco."

Monaco currently sits second in Ligue 1, having won their first three matches of the season. Camara is expected to feature for the club in their upcoming match against Strasbourg.

The failed transfer occurred on a busy deadline day for Chelsea, which also saw the club sanction the sale of Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City for a reported £125 million. Chelsea had reportedly been pursuing Camara as a replacement before the deal collapsed. Despite learning of the U-turn on Camara, Chelsea sources indicated they honored their agreement with Manchester City regarding Fernandez's transfer, choosing not to renege on their word.
