California gubernatorial candidate Xavier Becerra, Los Angeles mayoral hopeful Nithya Raman, and Mayor Karen Bass all cast their votes on Election Day, sporting distinctly different styles that drew commentary from fashion experts.

While none of the politicians opted for high-fashion ensembles, celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch and Los Angeles-based stylist Jessy Cain evaluated their Election Day attire.

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Nithya Raman received the highest marks from both stylists. Bloch awarded her a 7/10, noting her effort to put together an outfit. Cain gave her a 6/10, appreciating the thought put into her ensemble, particularly the boots and top. However, both stylists commented on her orange wrap-around skirt paired with a black top, with Cain stating it felt a bit too much like Halloween.

Raman, who represents the 4th District, wore a long black sleeve top with an orange wrap-around skirt and black boots when she voted with her family at the Silverlake Community Church.

Mayor Karen Bass, who voted on Sunday, received a 6/10 from Bloch, who described her style as a "worker's wardrobe" and praised her practical approach. Cain was less impressed, giving Bass a 4.5/10 and suggesting her camel suit jacket looked "tired." Bass's outfit consisted of a black top, black pants, a camel suit jacket, and Adidas sneakers, worn when she voted at a Koreatown YMCA.

California gubernatorial candidate Xavier Becerra, joined by his wife Dr. Carolina Reyes, was ranked last by both stylists. Bloch gave Becerra's olive green sweater, baggy faded blue jeans, and black Adidas sneakers a 5/10, suggesting he was aiming for a grassroots appeal. Cain was more critical, awarding a 3/10 and calling his look "mediocre" and "too casual."

Bloch quipped that Becerra's fashion "says 'I'm a drag,'" while Cain noted that the combination "doesn’t feel special enough for the moment."

Ultimately, both stylists agreed that Raman was the standout of the day, with Bass in the middle, and Becerra finishing last.
