California College Faces Backlash Over Viral Video of Trump Piñata Being Destroyed

Contra Costa College in San Pablo, California, is under scrutiny following the emergence of a viral video depicting students destroying a piñata fashioned to look like former President Donald Trump.

The video, shared by Libs of TikTok, shows a blindfolded individual striking the piñata, which was adorned with a red baseball cap and a sign reading "F— ICE," until its head was removed. The individual then appears to be cheered on by onlookers as they hold up the decapitated piñata. The incident also appears to have been observed by Lorena Gonzalez, identified as a counselor at the college, who is seen celebrating in the footage.

In response to the video, Contra Costa College issued a statement to Libs of TikTok, asserting that the institution "does not condone or allow violent political rhetoric" and that the incident "was addressed as a personnel matter."

The video reportedly surfaced last week and is said to have occurred "a few months ago." A White House spokesperson, Davis Ingle, commented on the incident, stating, "Anyone who engages in or endorses political violence or assassination culture must be condemned in the harshest terms possible." He added that individuals involved should "immediately seek psychiatric help to treat their severe and debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has warped their brains and made them sick in the head."

Neither Contra Costa College nor Lorena Gonzalez immediately responded to requests for further comment from Fox News Digital.
