Busy Philipps has seemingly debuted a new romance with comedian Jason Selvig, hours after publicly sharing her diagnosis of a malignant brain tumor. The actress, 47, was photographed holding hands with Selvig, known for his street interviews with the group The Good Liars, in New York City on Wednesday.
Philipps wore a floral yellow dress with red sneakers, a black baseball cap, and sunglasses for the outing. Selvig sported a graphic t-shirt, blue shorts, and sneakers. It is unclear how long the two have been dating, and Philipps' representative did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Philipps has been publicly supportive of Selvig's work, consistently liking his Instagram posts since February. Selvig is known for creating viral videos that often involve trolling President Trump supporters.
This new public appearance comes shortly after Philipps revealed to People that she underwent surgery in March to remove a Grade 2 oligodendroglioma, a slow-growing tumor detected during a Prenuvo scan. She experienced a subsequent staphylococcus infection at the incision site, requiring another procedure in April.
Philipps described the past six months as the "weirdest" of her life but expressed gratitude for being alive. She told the outlet that while she wasn't consciously aware of anything significantly wrong, she felt something was "misfiring." Philipps also emphasized the importance of seeking information, stating, "There's nothing to be afraid of in having information. It's only empowering."
The actress was previously romantically linked to Blake Berris in October 2025 and before that, dated director Jon Kasbe. Philipps was married to screenwriter Marc Silverstein from 2007 to 2021, with whom she shares two daughters, Birdie, 18, and Cricket, 13. Silverstein has reportedly supported Philipps through her recent health challenges.
