The black 1996 BMW 7 Series in which rapper Tupac Shakur was killed remains on the market for $1.75 million, with bullet holes still intact. The vehicle's listing coincides with the ongoing murder trial of Duane "Keffe D" Davis, the only person charged in connection with Shakur's death.
Celebrity Cars Las Vegas initially offered the car for $1.5 million in 2017. The price has since been increased by $250,000. The dealership reports that the car has undergone a comprehensive restoration and received a new paint job, though a small exterior indentation believed to be from one of the bullets persists.
Shakur was a passenger in the vehicle when he was shot multiple times on September 7, 1996, in Las Vegas. Rapper Suge Knight, who was driving, survived the incident. The shooting occurred following a fight involving Shakur and Davis's nephew at the MGM Grand.
Jury selection for Davis's trial began in Las Vegas on Monday. The 63-year-old former gang leader is accused of orchestrating the attack and providing the firearm used in the shooting. Davis has pleaded not guilty to the murder charges. Prosecutors allege the shooting was an act of retaliation for the earlier brawl.
The BMW was previously featured on the television series "Pawn Stars" but was not purchased. Interested buyers are currently required to provide a $20,000 refundable deposit and sign a confidentiality agreement to view the vehicle at the Las Vegas dealership.
