Brooks Nader is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming "Baywatch" reboot, premiering in January on Fox. Nader, who described the iconic red one-piece bathing suit as her "power suit," revealed in an interview that she secretly purchased bikinis during her childhood due to a ban in her household.
Raised by strict Christian parents in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Nader, 29, recalled sneaking into Victoria's Secret to buy two-piece swimsuits. "That was when I was like, ‘OK, I think I can do both, bikini and one-piece,'" she told The Post. "And now I’m in a one-piece every day for ‘Baywatch,’ so it’s ironic."
Nader referred to her role in the "Baywatch" reboot as a "pinch-me moment," having long admired the stars of the original 1989 series, such as Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra. She believes she manifested the role after posing in a red one-piece for the cover of Sports Illustrated in 2023, an experience that sparked her desire to be part of the "Baywatch" franchise, even before knowing a reboot was in development.
In the new series, Nader portrays Selene Archer, a lifeguard captain described by the network as "sharp-tongued." She noted similarities between herself and the character, finding the role enjoyable. Filming for the series began in March, with Nader typically wearing the same red suit, with backups available for practical reasons.
Beyond "Baywatch," Nader is also filming Season 2 of her reality show, "Love Thy Nader," which features her and her three younger sisters living together. In the first season, Nader openly discussed her use of GLP-1 medication for weight loss, including increasing the dosage for a Maxim cover shoot. Her sisters intervened due to concerns about her health, observing her lack of eating and instances of nausea.
Nader explained her decision to share this personal struggle on screen, stating a desire to move away from the curated personas often seen on social media and television. She described her journey as ongoing, exploring what constitutes a healthy approach to her well-being.
Nader has also partnered with the wine brand Josh Cellars for its Seaswept Sparkling white wine. She shared a favorite summer drink and discussed a pastime with her sisters in Manhattan: making "roadies" and walking around the West Village. "So me and my sisters will all take plastic cups and walk around like a block party. That’s the Louisiana in us," she said, acknowledging the potential for it to be perceived as illegal but deeming it "worth it."
