Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz recently spent a weekend vacationing at the South of France villa of their godfather, Elton John, in Nice. Their getaway coincided with a reported visit by Brooklyn's parents, David and Victoria Beckham, to St. Tropez, approximately 75 miles away.
The couple shared photos on Instagram documenting their stay at John's £15 million villa, Castel Mont-Alban, which overlooks Nice. The residence has previously hosted Victoria and David Beckham. John typically spends his summers there with his husband, David Furnish, and their two sons.
During their trip, Brooklyn and Peltz were seen in St. Tropez, reportedly just minutes away from a restaurant where David and Victoria Beckham were dining. The Beckhams were vacationing on their yacht, Seven, in the area.
The estrangement between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents has been noted publicly since around David Beckham's 50th birthday celebrations. In January, Brooklyn reportedly released a statement suggesting he was no longer part of 'Brand Beckham' and claimed his parents had exerted control over his life and attempted to create distance between him and Peltz. He has also publicly acknowledged fewer family milestones.
Brooklyn has reportedly been staying on Elton John's yacht during his time in the South of France, opting out of his family's annual yachting trip. The Beckhams and John have maintained a friendship for over 30 years.
Recent reports suggest that communication between Brooklyn and his parents has been strained, with Brooklyn blocking his parents on Instagram before Christmas last year and legal representatives reportedly handling communication.
Earlier this year, Brooklyn Beckham faced criticism for a sponsored video with DoorDash, which some interpreted as a jab at his parents. Friends of the Beckhams reportedly described them as "devastated and inconsolable" by the advertisement.
