Britney Spears was recently photographed with her head and upper body protruding from the sunroof of a moving vehicle on the 101 freeway in Studio City, Los Angeles. The images show Spears, 44, standing fully upright in the passenger seat as the black Mercedes SUV traveled at approximately 45 miles per hour.

According to reports, the singer remained in the sunroof for about two minutes before the vehicle exited the freeway and stopped at a gas station. A source cited in the reporting indicated that Spears was checking traffic ahead, stating she was unaware if putting her head through the sunroof was illegal and had no ill intent. The source also suggested that Spears used to do this as a child and found it enjoyable.

This sighting comes several months after Spears was arrested in March on suspicion of driving under the influence in Ventura, California. Police documents from that incident stated that Spears claimed she could drink and handle officers, and officers reported finding a bottle of Adderall not prescribed to her and an empty wine glass in the vehicle.

In May, the DUI charge against Spears was dropped. She pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, commonly referred to as a "wet reckless." Her legal resolution included fines, 12 months of probation, and time served, along with a requirement to complete a DUI course. The district attorney's office noted that this plea agreement was standard for defendants without a prior DUI history, a crash, or injuries, and with a low blood-alcohol level. A representative for Spears confirmed at the time of her arrest that she had voluntarily entered a treatment facility.
