Britney Spears has declared herself "single as can be" in a recent Instagram video, stating she is not looking to date anyone. The singer shared the update on Tuesday, accompanied by footage of herself dancing.
In the video, Spears, 44, can be seen dancing in a backless white gown and black heels. She captioned the post, "I don’t want to date anyone honestly. No thank you." She also expressed gratitude for her friends, noting that they "make [her] laugh."
This is not the first time Spears has spoken about her single status since her divorce from ex-husband Sam Asghari. The couple finalized their divorce in 2024, after separating in 2023. This was Spears' second marriage; she was previously married to Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2006.
In February 2024, Spears described herself as a "hopeless romantic" while also stating that "being single is awesome." Later, she posted on Instagram, "Single as f–k!!! I will never be with another man as long as I live !!!" However, in December 2023, she acknowledged that it felt "weird" to be without a partner after seven years with Asghari.
Spears has also been candid about personal growth, writing in December 2023, "I’ve had a lot of time to really look back with all the good and bad... I’ve realized I don’t talk to myself so nicely at all … I’m easily manipulated and I wear my heart on my sleeve... But I’m definitely changing all that." She added that she found it "amazing" to be "selfish with my life and enjoy it."
More recently, Spears made a public statement about past relationships, telling her followers that she had dated "two f–king complete a–holes" and realized she "loved their dogs more than them." She described these individuals as "cruel humans that never even acknowledged me and never held my hand in the car for six years!!!" The singer has also expressed a desire to have more children in the future.
