Brielle Biermann has refuted claims that she intentionally posted a video of herself in a Vera Wang wedding dress to undermine fashion influencer Brigette Pheloung.
The drama unfolded after Biermann, 29, shared an Instagram video on Sunday with the caption, “the dress I almost said yes to.” This post came shortly after Pheloung, 29, wore the identical gown for her wedding to Mitch McHale on Saturday. Pheloung's wedding photos, featuring the dress, were posted on her fashion and lifestyle social media page, @AcquiredStyle, on Monday.
Biermann addressed the online furor on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, asserting that her post was pre-scheduled and not timed to coincide with Pheloung's wedding. "As you’ll see, I made this video on Friday. We had it scheduled to be posted on Sunday for engagement purposes," Biermann explained.
She added that she had never met Pheloung and was unaware of her wedding plans. "I’ve never met @acquired.style & did not know she was getting married this weekend, let alone see a leaked photo of her!" Biermann stated. She also complimented Pheloung's choice, saying, "She clearly has great taste that she went with Vera Wang for her dress! ... I genuinely hope you had a fabulous wedding day & enjoyed your dress!"
Biermann, who became engaged to baseball player Billy Seidl in February 2024, posted her clarification after receiving numerous negative comments on her initial video. Some users accused her of seeking attention from someone else's special day, with one commenter writing, "No forsureeeeee it’s just a coincidence to dedicate an entire post to the dress u DIDNT choose the same day someone else gets leaked in the same dress forsureeeee a concidence."
Biermann responded to one comment questioning the timing by writing, "? Do you think I ran to Vera Wang today to try this dress on and post it lmao."
Meanwhile, Pheloung appeared unfazed by the online discussion. She posted her own TikTok video on Monday showcasing the Vera Wang gown, describing it as "the dress of my dreams." Her wedding photos on @AcquiredStyle also garnered significant praise from followers.
