A bride experienced an unexpected and deeply emotional surprise on her wedding day when photos taken with her late father's camera revealed superimposed images from his past. Mia Chard, 43, decided to use her father Doug's old camera for her wedding, unaware that a roll of film from 1999 was still inside.

Doug Chard died in 2018 at the age of 72. Mia Chard opted to walk herself down the aisle, feeling it was most appropriate to do so without anyone else if her father could not be there. The resulting photographs featured double exposures, layering wedding scenes with images her father had captured years earlier.

Initially, Chard was disappointed by the perceived ruined photos. However, upon closer examination, she recognized familiar faces and scenes from her father's life intertwined with her wedding moments. She shared the images on TikTok, describing it as a sign that her father was present, writing, "My dad came to my wedding."

One striking image shows Chard walking towards the altar solo, with overlapping exposures from her father's film creating a poignant border. She expressed that the photos felt like a message from her father, confirming his presence on her special day. "It felt like the one person I had wanted at my wedding was trying to tell me he had been there all along," Chard told reporters. "That he was right beside 'his girl' when I walked down the aisle."

Chard recounted feeling a connection to her father through music and pictures even before this incident. She had no prior knowledge that the film was still in the camera, remarking, "It felt meant to be. It truly felt meant to be."

Chard said the beautiful surprise was a reminder that her father was still with her. 'It felt like the one person I had wanted at my wedding was trying to tell me he had been there all along,' she said

Her story resonated widely on social media, with many users expressing awe and emotion. Chard and her partner, Sam Perez, met through social media and were married on May 2. Chard has since gained a following by sharing personal stories about her love life and background.
