Brandy Ledford, known for her role in "Baywatch: Hawaii," is sharing her approach to aging gracefully and maintaining her fitness at 57. The actress revealed that her current health philosophy centers on strength training, which she believes is crucial for bone density and longevity. Ledford is also hosting a luxury wellness retreat for women in September and connects with fans through her content creation platform, Passes.
Ledford stated that her fitness routine has shifted to prioritize lifting heavier weights. "When you get to be my age, you need to lift weights for bone density and longevity," she told Fox News Digital. While she still enjoys yoga and hiking, her primary focus is now on serious weight training. This emphasis on strength training is a change from her previous routine, which involved more yoga sculpt.
Her connection to "Baywatch" also played a role in her fitness journey. To prepare for the show, Ledford, who is a strong swimmer, quit smoking to improve her stamina for swimming tests. She also hired a trainer to help her become comfortable working out in the water and on the sand, recognizing the sand as an effective workout surface.
Beyond physical training, Ledford attributes her youthful appearance to a combination of factors, including "Botox and bleach," as well as a commitment to skincare and hydration. She also highlighted the importance of inner well-being, noting her sobriety of 14 years and her strong faith. "I do all the things, but it starts from the inside," Ledford said. "I love really good skincare. I think healthy hair is a big part of it. And I think a beautiful smile is important. I'm always drinking water."
Ledford remains confident and comfortable with her image, even embracing her past as a sex symbol. "I love, I mean, I'm a grandmother. I mean, what? That's so great! I think it's so fun. I'm not ready to hang up my bikini yet," she stated. She even mused about doing a photoshoot in her iconic yellow "Baywatch" swimsuit.
Looking ahead to the upcoming "Baywatch" reboot, Ledford offered advice to the new cast, emphasizing hydration, sunscreen, and feeling comfortable in one's body. She believes the enduring appeal of "Baywatch" lies in its blend of fantasy, attractive characters, drama, and action, providing an escape for viewers.
