The body of Keisha Nicole Jones, 31, who was last seen at South Florida strip clubs, was recovered from Biscayne Bay off Virginia Key on Monday morning, according to family members and local reports. Jones was reported missing after being last observed on surveillance footage early Friday, leaving Dean’s Gold in North Miami Beach and then traveling to Scarlett’s Cabaret in Hallandale Beach.
Her father, Richard Furlow, stated that his daughter was found near a NOAA research building on Virginia Key. He confirmed that the body fitting her description was located between 2:30 and 4 a.m. on Monday. The Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Office is awaiting family identification to release further details.
The FBI has confirmed it is aware of the matter and is working to understand the circumstances surrounding Jones’ disappearance and death. A spokesperson declined to comment on the specifics of the ongoing investigation. North Miami Beach Police had previously noted in a missing persons flyer that Jones had no known mental health issues or medical illnesses.
Furlow described his daughter as someone who was trying to turn her life around, having recently started a new relationship and attending church. He expressed profound grief over the loss, telling WSVN, "My family is broken. My sister can’t stop crying."
Jones' family is seeking answers regarding who she was last seen with and the events that led to her death. They are reportedly meeting with investigators in Miami Beach.
