More than 70 hours of audio recordings from interviews between President Joe Biden and his memoir ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer, have been released to the public. The release follows a lengthy legal effort by Biden's attorneys to block their disclosure, which they eventually abandoned.

The recordings, made in 2016 and 2017 during the writing of Biden's book "Promise Me, Dad," were obtained by special counsel Robert Hur as part of his investigation into Biden's handling of classified documents. The Oversight Project, a conservative think tank, had been seeking the materials for over two years through Freedom of Information Act requests, arguing for the public's right to review the basis of Hur's findings.
