Fans of the recently concluded first season of 'Dutton Ranch' seeking more of the gritty Western drama can find a wealth of similar content, much of it also stemming from the expansive universe created by Taylor Sheridan.

Yellowstone and its Spinoffs

The original series, 'Yellowstone,' remains a cornerstone for viewers who enjoy the dramatic storytelling of the Dutton family. Spanning five seasons, the show chronicles the family's efforts to maintain control of their Montana ranch amidst various conflicts. "Yellowstone" also stars Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, and Finn Little, who reprise their roles in the 'Dutton Ranch' spinoff.

For those who have followed the Dutton family, the Luke Grimes-led series "Marshals" offers a continuation of the narrative. Set in Montana, this show picks up with Kayce Dutton after the "Yellowstone" finale. Grimes, alongside Brecken Merrill, Gil Birmingham, and Mo Brings Plenty, return to their roles as Kayce joins a team of U.S. Marshals. The series features new adventures in each episode, and the Season 1 finale has fueled hopes for a crossover with "Dutton Ranch."

Other Sheridan-Verse Offerings

"Landman," set in West Texas, delves into the oil business through the eyes of Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton). The series follows Norris as he navigates the complexities of the industry with his crew and family, including Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, and Jacob Lofland. The show has already been renewed for a third season following strong viewership for its second season premiere.

"The Madison," starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, offers a different tone within the Sheridan universe. This series focuses on the Clyburn family's journey to Montana after a significant family tragedy. Despite its departure from the high-action dramas, the show has been renewed for two additional seasons.

Complementary Western Series

Viewers looking for shows outside the direct Sheridan universe but with a similar Western sensibility can consider "Longmire." Based on Craig Johnson's novels, the series follows Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor), a Wyoming sheriff investigating cases while dealing with personal trauma. The show aired on A&E before moving to Netflix for its final seasons, and also features Katee Sackhoff and Lou Diamond Phillips.

"Justified," inspired by Elmore Leonard's works, centers on U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) after his reassignment to his Kentucky hometown. The series gained popularity for the dynamic between Givens and his adversary Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins). "Justified" ran for six seasons and has since spawned a sequel series, "Justified: City Primeval."
