Beverly Vance, mother of Vice President J.D. Vance, has stated she is satisfied with the financial compensation she received for the 2020 film adaptation of "Hillbilly Elegy," despite initial attempts by studio executives to offer a lower amount. Vance discussed the business negotiations surrounding the Netflix movie, based on her son's bestselling 2016 memoir, during an appearance on "Tomi Lahren is Fearless."

When asked by host Tomi Lahren if she believed she made enough money from the film, especially given the initial lowball offer, Beverly Vance responded, "I'm happy with what I made." She confirmed that executives initially attempted to pay her less, a common tactic in Hollywood when securing life rights, but she declined to accept the reduced offer.

The film featured a notable cast, with Amy Adams portraying Beverly Vance and Glenn Close playing her mother. The discussion also touched upon the possibility of new screen adaptations following J.D. Vance's rise to the vice presidency.

Regarding a potential "Hillbilly Elegy 2," Beverly Vance deferred the decision to her son. "I think that should probably be J.D.'s decision, since he wrote the book and it's based on his life," she said. "That would probably be his call, but whatever he decides, I would be okay with."

A sequel, she suggested, could provide an opportunity to showcase her ongoing recovery from the personal addiction struggles depicted in the original movie. "It would be nice for people to see that I got clean and stayed clean, I think," Vance stated.
