BetMGM's entry into Kentucky follows the state's legalization of sports betting earlier in 2023. The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC) approved the company for a sports wagering license in August, paving the way for this launch.
Sports betting in Kentucky officially commenced on September 7, 2023, with several operators, including BetMGM, commencing operations on the same day. The state's regulatory framework allows for both retail and online sports wagering, with licensing managed by the KHRC.

Customers in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington D.C., West Virginia, and Wyoming can receive up to $1,000 in free bets by referring friends to the platform. The referred friend must also deposit and wager $50 to unlock the bonus for both parties.
