Conservative influencer Benny Johnson has detailed how Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk offered his family assistance following a fire that severely damaged their home in Washington, D.C. Johnson recounted the experience on the "Hang Out With Sean Hannity" podcast, describing how Kirk provided them with a condo in Sarasota, Florida, and a place to stay indefinitely.

Johnson explained that the incident occurred during what he described as the "Defund the Police" era, when he was living in a neighborhood he could only afford due to its lower cost, despite its high crime rate. He stated that an arson attack, which he attributed to a drug gang war, resulted in his neighbor's home being set ablaze, and the fire spread to his own house.

"My newborn child was in there," Johnson told host Sean Hannity. "The fire department had to rip the door off my house to save it," he added, referencing footage he saw from his home security camera.

According to Johnson, Kirk was the only person who reached out to offer help in the aftermath of the fire. "He [Kirk] says, 'You're gonna move to Florida. It's gonna be the best thing ever. God has actually told me that this is gonna happen... you need a condo in Sarasota. Go stay there, and you can stay there for as long as you want. You never have to pay me anything. I'm never gonna ask you to leave. You just stay there and you're gonna find a home here and you gonna like save your family,'" Johnson recalled.

The conversation with Hannity also touched upon other topics, including fatherhood, American politics, and Kirk's legacy. Johnson characterized the side of Kirk that the public rarely saw as one that left a significant impression, particularly his actions during a time of personal crisis.
