Music producer Benny Blanco recently undertook a five-day experiment to test whether significant weight loss is possible while consuming junk food, documenting his journey on social media. Blanco, who is married to singer and actress Selena Gomez, reported a weight loss of 4.7 pounds by the end of the trial. He began the experiment at 152.2 pounds and concluded at 147.5 pounds.

During the five days, Blanco exclusively ate a large thin-crust pizza from Domino's each day. He shared his progress and thoughts in videos posted to TikTok and Instagram, noting Gomez's appearances in two of the recordings. One cameo occurred during a date night, and another showed her embracing him while he filmed.

Background on Eating Habits

This experiment follows earlier comments Blanco made about Gomez's eating habits. In a live recording of Gwyneth Paltrow's podcast earlier this year, Blanco described his wife's diet as that of a five-year-old, citing burgers, fries, and fast food for breakfast among her preferences. He also mentioned that Gomez, who has a cooking series on Netflix, does not favor fruits or vegetables, often leaving greens from salads for him to consume. Gomez was reportedly hospitalized in 2011 for malnourishment due to her dietary habits.

Blanco also used the social media posts to promote his upcoming memoir, "F ** Failure," due out in September, and his Spanish-language album "Hermoso," released on August 14. He and Gomez, who were married in late 2023, have navigated periods of long-distance due to her filming commitments for the Hulu series "Only Murders in the Building."
