Belfast Night Tsar Michael Stewart has highlighted transport issues experienced during the recent Fleadh festival, while also commending the effectiveness of the night bus services provided. Stewart stated that securing funding for these night buses to operate in the future is a key objective.

"We're going back to Stormont to make sure that we get the funding for the night buses that are currently in to make sure we have those for next year as well," Stewart said, indicating a commitment to continuing the service.

Translink reported record numbers of passengers utilizing public transport during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. According to a spokesperson, over 1.7 million passenger journeys were recorded across the Translink bus and rail network, an increase of more than 620,000 journeys compared to the same period last year. The company attributed the successful transport operation to extensive planning, significant capacity enhancements, and the deployment of hundreds of additional bus and rail services. Despite periods of exceptionally high demand, Translink teams worked to adapt to travel patterns and assist passengers.

The Fleadh featured over 200 events, including competitions, concerts, and street performances, drawing large crowds to the city. A crowd of people. They are walking down a narrow street with red-brick buildings on either side. Above them are fake umbrellas of various colour.
