A 36-year-old Bay Area woman has been missing for over three weeks after she disappeared on her way home from an overnight shift at a San Francisco hotel. Chantel Brooks was last seen in the parking lot of a CVS store off Travis Boulevard in Fairfield shortly before 2 a.m. on July 17, according to Fairfield police.
Surveillance footage showed Brooks leaving her job at the Le Nain Hotel in San Francisco's Tenderloin district just before 12:30 a.m. the same morning. She was reportedly heading home at the time. Brooks was last seen wearing a multicolored brimmed hat, a red zip-up sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and brown furry boots.
A close friend raised concerns after not hearing from Brooks for several days, prompting her brothers, Calvin and Kevin Robinson, to check her cellphone's location. Kevin Robinson told NBC Bay Area that the phone's location was not registering. The family has since been distributing missing-person flyers throughout Fairfield and other parts of the Bay Area as Brooks' birthday approaches.
One of the flyers indicated that the license plate of Brooks' black Infiniti was last detected in Oakland, though Fairfield police have not confirmed this information. The search for Brooks remains active, and her family is increasingly worried about her whereabouts. "I’m trying to stay strong but the more the time goes by the more nervous you get," Kevin Robinson stated. He described his sister as "a happy girl" and the "life of the party," while Calvin Robinson characterized her as someone who consistently prioritized others.
