Barron Trump, son of the former U.S. President, is being asked to testify before Congress concerning his alleged links to 'manosphere' influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate. The brothers were arrested on July 18, following an extradition request from the United Kingdom, and face multiple charges including rape and sex trafficking.

Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari has written to the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, requesting that Barron Trump be subpoenaed. Investigative reports, according to Ansari, have detailed "direct, extensive communications" between Andrew Tate and Barron Trump, as well as the Tate brothers' interactions with "high-profile political figures within the President's personal circle." Ansari stated that the committee must investigate whether these communications influenced official actions or administration policy concerning the prosecution and investigation of the Tate brothers or international law enforcement cooperation.

The Tate brothers, Andrew and Tristan, were arrested in Miami by U.S. Marshals. The UK's Crown Prosecution Service has unveiled dozens of new charges, accusing Andrew, 39, and Tristan, 37, of abusing women between July 2010 and August 2017. Andrew Tate faces additional charges including seven counts of rape, three counts of facilitating sexual exploitation, three counts of assault, and 19 charges related to indecent images of children and extreme pornography. Tristan Tate is charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of facilitating sexual exploitation. The brothers have denied all charges.

Ansari is seeking subpoenas for state records, White House and agency logs, and Barron Trump's testimony to understand his knowledge of the Tate brothers' alleged crimes and any communication he may have had with members of his father's administration regarding their legal proceedings. The Tates, who hold dual British and American nationality, are known supporters of Donald Trump and have highlighted their connections to the First Family, particularly Barron Trump.

Justin Waller, an entrepreneur described as close to the Tate brothers, visited Mar-a-Lago in the spring of 2024 and dined with Barron Trump. Waller told the Daily Mail that he became a "big brother" figure to the then-teenager, offering advice and introducing him to a tailor. During a suit fitting, Barron Trump reportedly spoke with Andrew Tate via Zoom. Andrew Tate claimed he and Barron Trump spoke again after the July 2024 assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Donald Trump Jr. also appeared on a livestream with Andrew Tate to promote a MAGA meme coin.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the administration would not block the extradition of the Tate brothers to the UK, indicating no official support from the White House. The Tate brothers, who have a large following particularly among young men, face potential lengthy detentions in federal jail while fighting extradition. They also face legal proceedings in Romania, where they have a home. The UK extradition request is understood to take precedence.

The brothers were initially arrested in Romania in December 2022 on suspicion of running a criminal enterprise. British prosecutors filed their own charges in May 2025. The Tates traveled from Romania to Florida in February 2025 after a travel ban was lifted, a move reportedly influenced by figures within the Trump administration. Donald Trump has previously stated he knew nothing about the matter. A ProPublica report suggested a White House official intervened to ensure the return of electronic devices seized from the brothers upon their arrival in Florida.
