Joe Amabile, a well-known figure from the "Bachelorette" franchise, announced on Instagram that doctors have identified what appears to be an early-stage brain tumor. Amabile, often referred to as "Grocery Store Joe," shared that a recent MRI scan revealed a “blueberry-size lesion” in his brain, which medical professionals suspect is a glioma.

Amabile, 40, stated that he will undergo brain surgery, a craniotomy, in two weeks. The procedure is intended to remove the lesion for testing and further diagnosis. He described the past few weeks as "wild" and admitted he "never" anticipated facing such a health concern. He expressed hope that the tumor can be fully removed and that he will recover, promising to keep his followers updated.

In his Instagram post, Amabile mentioned his efforts to remain positive during this challenging time, emphasizing the support he has received from family and friends. He indicated that while he considered how much to share, he ultimately decided to disclose this part of his life journey. "Onto a new journey," he concluded.

Fellow "Bachelor Nation" alumni offered messages of support in the comments section, including his wife, Serena Pitt, who wrote, "You’re so strong and we’re going to get through this together ❤️ I love you." Other notable figures from the franchise, such as Zac Clark and Joey Graziadei, also shared their well wishes.

Amabile first gained national attention in 2018 on Season 14 of "The Bachelorette." Despite being eliminated early, his popularity led to the nickname "Grocery Store Joe" and subsequent appearances on "Dancing With the Stars" and "Bachelor in Paradise." He met Pitt on "on Bachelor in Paradise" Season 7 in 2021, and the couple married in 2022.
