An award-winning psychic died after an accidental fall down a flight of stairs at her home, an inquest has heard.
Kate Golby, 44, who also worked as a coach and motivational speaker, was found unresponsive at the bottom of the stairs by her son. She was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, where she died two days later.
The inquest, held at Norwich Coroner's Court, heard there was no evidence of third-party involvement, nor any witnesses or footage of the fall. It was also stated that Ms. Golby had no underlying medical conditions.
Her medical cause of death was listed as severe extensive traumatic brain injury resulting from the fall down the stairs. Area coroner Johanna Thompson concluded that Ms. Golby's death was accidental.
Ms. Golby, who also used the name Kate Oman, was known professionally as 'the Sparkle Coach.' She authored several books on self-help, spiritual beliefs, and self-esteem. Her book "Chasing Rainbows" was named 'Best Spiritual Book' at the 2017 Soul and Spirit Awards. She was also a women's empowerment coach and served as the events director and CEO of ProspHER.
Online profiles described her as a leading expert in achieving happiness, who had practiced as a psychic since 2010, utilizing tarot and angel cards.
In a tribute read at the court, Ms. Golby's family stated, "To call her death a tragedy would be an understatement." They remembered her as a "loving mother and daughter" who was "endlessly devoted to achieving her dreams."
Her daughter launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral costs, noting the profound impact of her mother's sudden passing and the support received from friends and clients. She highlighted her mother's work in coaching, writing, and events, stating that many people around the world had benefited from her guidance.
