Actress Aubrey Plaza, 42, was photographed in New York City displaying a significant baby bump while walking her dog amid high temperatures. The sighting comes as Plaza anticipates the birth of her first child with actor Christopher Abbott, whom she began dating in late 2025.
Plaza, known for her role in "Parks and Recreation," appeared in a yellow t-shirt, light gray shorts, a baseball cap, and sunglasses. Her dog, Stevie, accompanied her on the outing. This public appearance follows the news that her animated series, "Kevin," has been canceled by Amazon Prime Video after just one season. Plaza co-created the show with ex-boyfriend Joe Wengert and served as an executive producer. The series, which debuted in April, was based on a rescued cat and featured Jason Schwartzman as a voice actor.
In a June statement shared on Instagram, Plaza expressed her disappointment over the cancellation, thanking the show's fans, cast, and crew. She drew a parallel to the early days of "Parks and Recreation," where a similar uncertainty about renewal existed. "I was hoping for this for Kevin but sadly we are living in a different time in our industry," Plaza wrote, expressing concern about the impact of "machines" on creative work. "Maybe Kevin will find a new owner someday."
Despite the cancellation of "Kevin," Plaza remains active in other projects. She appeared in Zach Woods' directorial debut, "The Accompanist," which premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 4. She is also producing and starring in the upcoming dark comedy biopic "The Heidi Fleiss Story."
Plaza announced her pregnancy in April on the SmartLess podcast, confirming that she was expecting her first child. She expressed excitement about impending motherhood and stated her intention to raise her child on the East Coast, closer to her family in Philadelphia and Delaware. Plaza and Abbott have not announced any wedding plans. The pregnancy announcement came approximately 15 months after the reported suicide of her estranged husband, Jeff Baena.
