Ashley Perez, the ex-wife of professional golfer Pat Perez, has publicly addressed the support she has received following a Skratch report detailing allegations of past misconduct by three-time Masters champion Phil Mickelson.
In an Instagram Story post, Ashley Perez wrote, "I will rise up and stand next to the millions of women who have been silenced to protect the evil and darkness that lurks amongst us." She added, "Thank you dearly for all of the love and support. My heart goes out to the countless other victims." Perez, who filed for divorce from Pat Perez in November 2023, did not name any individuals in her statement.
The Skratch report, authored by Alan Shipnuck, alleged that in 2015, while Ashley Perez and her then-husband were staying with Mickelson at his villa for a PGA Tour event, Mickelson allegedly showed her a nude photograph of himself. According to the report, Mickelson then invited her to his room later that night. Ashley Perez reportedly objected to the advances and informed Pat Perez about the incident after the tournament.
The report also stated that Mickelson, who has been married to his wife Amy for 30 years, apologized to Pat and Ashley Perez on separate occasions for his behavior. During a 26-minute phone call, Mickelson reportedly expressed contrition, alternating between apologizing and stating he did not recall the specific details of the night. He is quoted in the report as saying, "I can’t tell you how disgusted and embarrassed I am in myself."
This conversation reportedly occurred after Pat Perez made comments in a November 2022 podcast expressing a strong dislike for Phil Mickelson. Mickelson's attorney, Tom Clare, characterized the Skratch report as "reckless" in a statement to The California Post. Clare criticized what he called an exploitation of Mickelson's private life for clicks and stated that the article recycled acknowledged mistakes as new reporting. He also claimed that his statement was not included in the published article.
A spokesperson for Mickelson, who has been a part of the LIV Golf league, issued a statement indicating that some circulating allegations are false, while others address past mistakes Mickelson has already acknowledged. The statement suggested that juxtaposing disputed claims with admitted ones creates a false narrative. It emphasized that Mickelson's personal story and recovery are his own and that his wife, Amy, has supported him with "extraordinary grace" throughout their relationship.
Mickelson has been absent from professional golf since February to attend to a family matter. This comes after earlier accusations of "nonconsensual and inappropriate physical contact" with a female employee at The Farms Golf Club. Pat Perez began working as a broadcast analyst for LIV Golf in 2025, after competing for three seasons.
