Arsenal has held discussions regarding the potential signing of Victor Osimhen, as part of broader talks involving Galatasaray concerning the possible transfers of Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri. Barcelona is also reportedly preparing a fresh bid for Manchester City midfielder Rodri.

The summer transfer window, which opened recently and will close on September 1, is expected to be a busy period for clubs seeking to strengthen their squads ahead of the upcoming season.

In North London, Arsenal's transfer chiefs have discussed acquiring Osimhen, a Nigerian striker. However, progress on this specific deal has not yet been made. Concurrently, Galatasaray made a verbal offer of approximately £38.5 million for Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian winger, however, is reportedly reluctant to leave London. Ethan Nwaneri, a 19-year-old prospect, is evaluating his options amidst interest from several clubs, including AC Milan, Fulham, RB Leipzig, and Borussia Dortmund. Nwaneri expressed frustration last season due to limited playing time.

Arsenal is also reportedly interested in Jarell Quansah and has made contact with the England defender's representatives. Bayer Leverkusen is hesitant to sell the 23-year-old, but Arsenal wants to understand the terms of a potential transfer and ascertain his willingness to join them. Negotiations are ongoing for Ezri Konsa, though Aston Villa's valuation has been a significant hurdle.

Regarding Barcelona's pursuit of Rodri, the Spanish club is finalizing a new proposal after their second offer was rejected by Manchester City. The Etihad club is holding out for a fee closer to £68 million for their Spanish captain. Rodri was recently observed traveling back to Liverpool airport from Madrid.

Elsewhere in the transfer market, Wrexham is aiming to finalize a deal for Leicester defender Harry Souttar this weekend, having reportedly offered around £7.5 million for the Australia international. West Ham has agreed to a Championship record transfer fee of £22 million for Celtic midfielder Arne Engels, with the Belgian international expected to undergo a medical. Marseille is continuing negotiations for Leeds goalkeeper Lucas Perri and has also inquired about Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson. Hull City is considering a loan move for young prospect Calvin Okike and has made an offer exceeding £15 million for Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam. Tottenham full-back Djed Spence is nearing a £26 million move to Inter Milan. Napoli has agreed to a deal with Chelsea to sign defender Benoit Badiashile on an initial loan with an option to buy. Free agent Wilfried Zaha is training alone at Crystal Palace as he seeks a new club, while Brighton midfielder Harry Howell has joined Leicester on a season-long loan.
