At least one demonstrator was arrested as confrontations erupted outside New York City Hall on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, during a demonstration organized by far-right activist Jake Lang. The event, dubbed the "Crusader March," occurred concurrently with 9/11 memorial ceremonies and saw clashes between Lang's supporters and counterprotesters.

Nearly 200 individuals participated in the march and counterdemonstration near Church Street and Cortlandt Way in Lower Manhattan. It remained unclear whether the arrested individual was affiliated with Lang's group or among the counterprotesters.

Lang's march featured demonstrators carrying signs with anti-Muslim slogans, such as "Deport All Muslims," and broadly attributing the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks to Islam. The gathering also drew apparent neo-Nazis who were seen wearing swastika armbands.

Lang and his supporters marched toward Ground Zero as part of the demonstration, which coincided with the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The protest targeted New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
