An Arizona man accused of child sex crimes collapsed during a court hearing on Monday after learning the potential sentence he faces could be up to 100 years in prison. Joshua James Lozano, 42, a hospital worker, fainted after Maricopa County prosecutors detailed the charges against him.

Lozano is facing 10 felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Prosecutors stated that each count carries a potential 10-year prison sentence, to be served consecutively, meaning a conviction on all charges could result in a century behind bars. The state expressed grave safety concerns for local youth, alleging Lozano, who is married, was communicating with underage minors online.

Lozano was arrested the previous Thursday following an investigation that allegedly found explicit content being accessed through his internet service provider between April and May 2026. Investigators traced an account, phone number, and IP address directly to Lozano.

During the hearing, prosecutors requested a $150,000 cash bond and strict internet bans. Lozano's defense attorney sought a $50,000 secured bond with mandatory electronic monitoring, also highlighting Lozano's local ties. Lozano has lived in Glendale with his wife for eight years and is employed as a maintenance worker at Banner Del E Webb Medical Center.
